Land Ho! This week’s Cinematique Film Series selection at Thalian Hall is “Land Ho!” In the film two former brothers-in-law take a road trip through Iceland. “Land Ho!” plays Monday through Wednesday at 7 PM. Thalian Hall is located at 310 Chestnut Street. The Haunting Browncoat Pub & Theatre‘s weekly free Camp B-Movie screening is “The Haunting.” The 1963 horror classic depicts a terrifying experiment to prove the existence of ghosts. The Halloween Festival at Poplar Grove Plantation Poplar Grove’s 2014 Halloween Festival kicks off this weekend. Attractions include a walk through “The Haunted Manor,” a dark forest ride on “The Haunted Wagon,” and the “Goblins and Games Fun House.” On Friday the festival is operational from 6 PM to 11 PM, on Saturday from noon to 11 PM, and on Sunday from noon to 8 PM. Wilmington Beer Week Begins Wilmington Beer Week began in 2012 as a celebration of craft beers. This year’s participants include Cape Fear Wine and Beer, Fermental, and Lighthouse Beer and Wine.
